Holly Rowe Injury Update After Sideline Tackle at Miami-Florida State Game

The role of a sideline reporter for college football possesses its own unique set of on-the-job challenges. However, those challenges seemed to have little effect on ESPN’s Holly Rowe this past Saturday.

While positioned along the boundary of the field during No. 3 Miami’s dominant performance versus No. 18 Florida State, the experienced broadcaster was inadvertently struck at her legs by a surge of players during the third quarter. She promptly rose to her feet and communicated with her fellow broadcasters in the announcing booth.

“I have a personal injury report to share. I am alright,” Rowe communicated, and then promptly started to analyze the Miami defensive unit.

“I gave you all time to speak, my backpedaling was not good,” Rowe commented. She also lightheartedly chided Michael Irvin, who was standing close by, for not shielding her, while also promising to protect the NFL Hall of Fame inductee during their next similar encounter with oncoming players.

Such composure reflects the skill of a reporter who has been covering sidelines for ESPN across different sports for a duration of three decades.
