Horse Racing Broadcasts: Dec. 26-29

The North American thoroughbred racing schedule has a distinctive moment: a single day, this Thursday, when no tracks will be active, coinciding with the Christmas holiday celebrated by the racing community and the general public. While many significant tracks will resume operations promptly on Friday, December 26, the customary post-Christmas highlight – Santa Anita Park’s opening day – is being delayed by two days this year due to predictions of substantial rainfall across southern California during the week.

The commencement of Santa Anita’s Classic meeting is now slated for Sunday, December 28, featuring a program of six stakes competitions. Furthermore, the track’s planned Saturday, December 27 card has been rescheduled to Monday, December 29. Live coverage of all events from “The Great Race Place” will be available on FanDuel TV. This same channel will additionally air live racing from venues including Gulfstream Park, Turfway Park, and Laurel Park throughout the extended three-day period following Christmas.

NYRA’s program, “America’s Day at the Races,” is set to feature live equestrian events from Aqueduct and Oaklawn Park across three broadcasts during the weekend. Viewers can catch “America’s Day at the Races” on FOX Sports; specific channel and broadcast times are detailed in the schedule provided below.

Subscribers have access to horse racing events originating from various global tracks through the Racetrack Television Network (RTN). This service supports live streaming across all digital platforms, including computers, tablets, and smartphones, as well as television viewing via DISH Network, Amazon Fire, and Roku.

Below is an overview of the revised schedule for horse racing broadcasts, streaming services, and radio coverage during the weekend immediately following Christmas:
