The 2025 John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run is down to its final 18 holes on this Independence Day weekend. The familiar environment of northern Illinois presents an opportunity for a new champion, as the participant list heading into Sunday’s closing round is relatively sparse on well-known players. Keep up with the John Deere Classic leaderboard through every stage of Round 4.

Following last week’s efforts by figures like Patrick Cantlay and Collin Morikawa to improve their Ryder Cup standings, a majority of the world’s highest-ranked golfers are taking a break prior to consecutive appearances at the Scottish Open and the Open Championship in Europe. This situation could pave the way for some emerging talents to make their mark, similar to last week when 20-year-old Aldrich Potgieter secured his inaugural victory in Detroit.

Potgieter struggled in the third round, carding a 76, as did the 36-hole leader, Doug Ghim, with a 74. Davis Thompson, who was favored going into the weekend, lived up to expectations and took the lead on Moving Day. Thompson currently leads the field at 2-1 to emerge victorious at the John Deere Classic, though a couple of formidable contenders are closely trailing, eager to apply pressure on Sunday. Max Homa and Emiliano Grillo are both positioned at 5-1, just one stroke behind the leader, while names such as Camilo Villegas, Matt Kuchar, and Cameron Champ are also within four strokes of Thompson.

Low scores are anticipated for Sunday, mirroring last week’s event in Detroit. TPC Deere Run has a history of yielding impressive scores, with occasional hints of sub-60 rounds. Here’s how you can observe the competitors pursuing low scores in Illinois during this Independence Day weekend.
