Jordan Spieth Makes Surprise Admission After 2025 U.S. Open originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The 2025 U.S. Open was a thrilling one steeped in controversy as players dealt with rainy, muddy course conditions and JJ Spaun sunk a 64-foot, six inch putt to seal a championship victory at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.
Spaun’s win came on a day of unlikely heroes as he joined several unfamiliar names at the top of the leaderboard while PGA Tour superstars Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth and others were relegated to obscurity.
On Wednesday, Speith made a candid post-U.S. Open admission as he reveled in the perks of his relative youth while sharing a story of how he decided to unwind after a frustrating series of days at the office.

“I had a few beers Sunday, we were waiting on the Schefflers to come over here and he was after the delay so I went to Buffalo Wild Wings,” Spieth shared in a video posted to X.
“So…I didn’t exactly eat or drink the way I normally do there, and so most of the time it’s very very good, but sometimes post-U.S. Open I just kinda needed to throw a few back.
“And then by yesterday I was good, I’m still enough that that it doesn’t really bother me the next day, so,” Spieth continued.

The PGA star finished +8 at Oakmont, a disappointing result from a challenging weekend.
Next up for the Tour is the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut from June 19-22, followed by the Rocket Classic in Detroit from June 26-29.
