The Baltimore Ravens conducted their practice session on Thursday without the presence of their quarterback, Lamar Jackson, raising concerns about his availability for the upcoming game. This absence hints that the two-time NFL MVP might be sidelined for the second consecutive match.
While the Ravens welcomed back cornerback Marlon Humphrey and fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) to the field, Jackson was notably absent due to a hamstring issue. This injury casts doubt on his participation in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. This marks the fifth consecutive practice that Jackson has missed, and head coach John Harbaugh refrained from providing a definitive update regarding the quarterback’s condition.
“The situation is consistent with that of other players managing various injuries,” Harbaugh stated on Wednesday. “Their progress throughout the week will offer insights into their availability moving forward.”
Injuries have significantly impacted the 1-4 Ravens, and following the Rams game, they will enter their bye week before resuming play on Oct. 26 against the Chicago Bears. Cooper Rush is prepared to assume the starting quarterback role if Jackson is deemed unable to play.

Jackson isn’t the only prominent player whose Week 6 participation is in question. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is not practicing on Thursday due to a toe injury, suggesting that Mac Jones may start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a high-stakes weekend matchup.
Two prominent wide receivers also missed Thursday’s practice sessions. Terry McLaurin of the Washington Commanders is still dealing with a quad injury, potentially sidelining him for this week’s Monday night game against the Chicago Bears. Meanwhile, Xavier Worthy of the Kansas City Chiefs is managing shoulder and ankle injuries, casting doubt on his availability for “Sunday Night Football” against the Detroit Lions.
Week 6 commences on Thursday night with the Philadelphia Eagles visiting the New York Giants.
