The Anfield side has reportedly intensified its pursuit to secure the services of central defender Marc Guéhi, as reported by Sami Mokbel and Paul Joyce.
Mokbel, reporting for the national broadcasting corporation, suggests Liverpool has initiated dialogue aimed at potentially transferring Guéhi to their home grounds, with early-stage conversations taking place. Joyce of The Times expands by stating that discussions are currently in progress between Liverpool and Crystal Palace, and a transfer agreement may involve a sum ranging from £30 million to £35 million, inclusive of potential additional incentives.
This corresponds with earlier indications that Liverpool has apparently come to an agreement regarding individual conditions with Guéhi, whose current agreement with Palace concludes in the coming year, thus increasing the need to finalize an agreement now.
Crystal Palace, who are aiming to secure a minimum of £45 million, are presently engaged in negotiations within a restricted period and could face the possibility of losing their team leader without compensation in 2026, when his current arrangement comes to an end.
The Eagles’ joint owner, Steve Parish, recently acknowledged that the organization would need to contemplate the possibility of transferring Guéhi during the current period.
The 25-year-old has been under consideration by several Premier League teams, including Newcastle, who saw a bid of £65m turned down for the England international during the month of January.
