Riot Games has presented the League of Legends Asia Invitational 2025, an upcoming competition slated for October, showcasing teams hailing from the LPL, LCK and LCP.
Scheduled from October 6th to 12th, 2025, the event will host teams that unfortunately did not secure qualification for the League of Legends World Championship in China.
According to a statement released on Weibo, the inaugural edition of the Asia Invitational is planned for the week preceding the commencement of matches for the World Championship. The Play-In stage of Worlds 2025 is set to begin two days following the Asia Invitational Grand Final.
The event, supported by Huya, Douyu, and Bilibili, is anticipated to feature eight teams from the three Asian leagues vying for their share of a CNY 1.5m (~£154,523) prize pool. It’s important to note that the event will be conducted online, not as a LAN event.
The Asia Invitational will be organized into a Group Stage, succeeded by a Knockout Stage. Kicking off on October 6th, the Group Stage involves a best-of-three single round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group proceeding to the subsequent stage.
From October 10th to 12th, a double-elimination bracket, concluding with a best-of-five final, will determine the ultimate victor.
League of Legends Asia Invitational 2025 Teams
Showcasing the finest Asian teams that were just shy of earning a spot at Worlds, the Asia Invitational is set to feature multiple prominent teams in competition.
The teams occupying fifth, sixth, and seventh place from both the LCK and LPL, along with the teams holding fourth and fifth place from the LCP, will participate in the Asia Invitational.
Following their elimination from the LCK playoffs, Nongshim RedForce is slated to be one of the league’s representatives at the tournament. Based on the outcomes of other playoff matches, either Dplus KIA, BNK FearX, or T1 will complete the lineup.
The LPL has already confirmed that Ninjas in Pyjamas and EDward Gaming will be participating. Representing the LCP will be GAM Esports and MGN Vikings Esports.
