TRENDING RUMORS
– Sky Sports indicates that Manchester City, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur are all showing interest in acquiring AFC Bournemouth’s striker, Antoine Semenyo. The 25-year-old’s agreement supposedly includes a clause that allows for his release, valued at £60 million plus £5 million in incentives, which becomes effective in January. However, this clause is only valid until a specific point in the transfer period and will decrease in value during the summer. Semenyo recently signed a five-year deal, but only did so because of the inclusion of the release clause, as he desires to advance his career. He will also be available throughout the winter as Ghana was unable to secure a spot in the African Cup of Nations.
– Sky Sports Deutschland reports that Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has been left impressed by FC Cologne’s winger, Said El Mala, and is closely monitoring his progress. Scouts have reportedly been present at the 19-year-old’s recent games. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also keen, but finalizing a deal may prove challenging for the Bundesliga clubs, as Cologne has extended El Mala’s contract until 2030 and is seeking a fee of €40 million. Discussions between El Mala’s representatives and Cologne are scheduled for the winter, and he is in no hurry to leave the club.
– The Telegraph reports that Nottingham Forest values the potential transfer of midfielder Elliot Anderson at over £100 million, amid reported interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United. However, a departure in January is unlikely, with Forest prepared to maintain a firm stance regarding the 23-year-old’s future. Meanwhile, ESPN sources suggest that the Red Devils have no intention of bolstering their midfield during the January transfer period.
– Prior to the January transfer window, there have been numerous players linked with a move to Bayern Munich. Florian Plettenberg has mentioned that their targets include Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read, Anderlecht midfielder Nathan De Cat, Crystal Palace center back Marc Guéhi, Borussia Dortmund center back Nico Schlotterbeck, FC Cologne winger Said El Mala, and Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani. Furthermore, Bild’s Christian Falk reports that Bayern Munich is monitoring Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and are also interested in Midtjylland striker Franculino Djú.
– Sky Sports Deutschland states that Karim Adeyemi‘s representative, Jorge Mendes, has engaged in conversations with various clubs, including Manchester United, as discussions regarding a new contract for the Borussia Dortmund forward have stalled. The report clarifies that claims suggesting the 23-year-old has decided to depart are inaccurate, and additional discussions with Dortmund are planned following the international break. As of now, Adeyemi’s future remains uncertain. His current deal extends until 2027 and includes a base salary of €475,000 per month. Mendes is seeking a higher figure than the €600,000 per month offered for an extension and also wants to include a release clause.
EXPERT TAKE
ESPN’s Sam Tighe discusses the future for Bournemouth’s forward, Antoine Semenyo.

When Semenyo finalized his new agreement with Bournemouth during the previous summer, it appeared to be an arrangement where both parties agreed to “give it another year.” This type of arrangement, where the player receives a salary increase but also has a clearly defined exit strategy and a mutually acceptable release clause, has become increasingly common in contemporary football.
The international player from Ghana has enjoyed a fantastic start to the current campaign, with six goals and three assists across 11 league matches. Only Erling Haaland (15) has a better record than him, emphasizing his significant impact and effectiveness. His direct and forceful dribbling techniques create anxiety for defenders, as he confronts them head-on, compelling them to adjust their positioning. Moreover, his ability to produce dangerous shots or crosses at the conclusion of these runs has improved notably over the past three seasons.
Coupled with his eagerness to press and his strong work ethic — qualities that are essential to excel under Bournemouth’s manager, Andoni Iraola — it is hardly surprising that several elite teams are expressing an interest in acquiring his services. A transfer fee of £60m in addition to £5m in incentives would be considered reasonable, given the prices that similarly aged forwards within the Premier League — such as Mohammed Kudus (£55m), Matheus Cunha (£62.5m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£71m) — were transferred for during the summer.
