The projected course of action for Manchester United during the upcoming summer transfer period is gaining clarity.
Reportedly, Ruben Amorim and INEOS have collaborated to secure the acquisitions of both Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. Now, it’s suggested that the Red Devils are strategizing to incorporate three additional players at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford has reportedly made a transfer to Barcelona, and there is a continuous surge of interest in Alejandro Garnacho and Antony. However, offloading Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho may present a more significant challenge.
What strategic moves are being considered by Manchester United for the future?

Evidently, it is vital for the Red Devils to optimize their player sales, especially if they are aiming to recruit a new central forward. Currently, Benjamin Sesko is apparently the primary target, notably after reports emerged this week indicating that United has initiated preliminary discussions with RB Leipzig.
The possibility of acquiring Ollie Watkins also remains under consideration, as The Independent suggests that INEOS is actively monitoring his situation. Furthermore, the idea of a player exchange has surfaced, potentially involving Garnacho moving in the opposite direction.

Additionally, the Red Devils continue to express interest in goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, especially with Andre Onana projected to be absent for the commencement of the 2025/26 season due to an injury. Altay Bayindir has been mentioned as another potential candidate for departure, contingent on locating a buyer for the Turkish international.
In other developments, Amorim is actively seeking to reinforce the central midfield position. Sporting’s Morten Hjulmand and Bayern Munich’s Joao Palhinha are two individuals whose names have been circulating as possible solutions.

The execution of these strategies remains contingent upon the departures of the players who have been collectively labeled as ‘the bomb squad,’ encompassing Antony, Sancho, Malacia, and Garnacho. Regrettably, all four players were excluded from the pre-season tour to the United States, as Amorim’s squad prepares to resume action against Bournemouth on Thursday.
“[Technical director] Jason [Wilcox], [chief executive] Omar Berrada, and the club have established financial benchmarks for these players,” Amorim stated during a recent inquiry about the quartet. “If these benchmarks are not satisfied, these players will remain as members of Manchester United, without any ambiguity.”
He further explained: “Certain players need to identify alternative environments to facilitate greater team flexibility, while others have explicitly indicated their desire for new challenges and affiliations with different teams. We are simply granting these players sufficient time for contemplation and decision-making.”
Amorim also noted, “I understand that clubs may be inclined to defer decisions until the last moment, but they should anticipate surprises. I am prepared to welcome the players back.”

According to FourFourTwo‘s analysis, Manchester United is facing considerable difficulties in securing buyers, primarily due to the substantial wage demands of their players.
Sancho, who was acquired for £80 million in 2021, continues to receive a reported weekly salary of £300,000, which is significantly complicating the process of finding a suitable buyer for the former Chelsea player.
