Rory McIlroy’s triumph at the 2025 Masters exemplified his persistent determination. After enduring numerous previous attempts without success, McIlroy managed to avert another potential setback, securing the coveted green jacket and completing his career grand slam achievement.
The onus is now on McIlroy to demonstrate his ability to replicate this stellar performance.
Nevertheless, as is customary each year, McIlroy will face formidable opponents throughout the competition. This includes prominent contenders such as Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, and Ludvig Åberg, among others.

Upcoming Events for the 2026 Masters Tournament
The initial round of the Masters tournament is scheduled to commence on Thursday, April 9, with the earliest tee times beginning at 7:40 a.m. ET. The tournament will conclude on Sunday, marking the final day of the 2026 Masters.
Although the main Masters competition starts on Thursday, the traditional Par 3 contest took place at Augusta on Wednesday. Aaron Rai emerged as the victor in this event. Historically, no player who has won the Par 3 contest has ever gone on to win the Masters in the same year, which could be an unfavorable sign for Rai.
