Middlesbrough Appoint New Manager After Edwards Exit

Middlesbrough have officially announced the arrival of Kim Hellberg as their new manager, as they focus their efforts on a potential promotion to the top flight.

The Swedish coach, aged 37, joins from Hammarby IF, having achieved notable success in Sweden with consecutive runner-up positions in the Allsvenskan.

Hellberg is considered by many to be among the most talented up-and-coming coaches in European football.

He is recognised for advocating a dynamic, possession-oriented approach to the game, highlighting aggressive pressing, rapid movement from defence to attack, and a commitment to winning back possession promptly. His Hammarby team demonstrated some of the most potent attacking figures in the league in recent campaigns.

It is understood that Middlesbrough agreed on a compensation fee of approximately £250,000 with Hammarby to obtain the services of the Swedish manager. The club is currently awaiting the necessary work permit, as interim manager Adi Viveash continues to manage the first team.
