“Even though I came close on multiple occasions, I unfortunately never succeeded in securing a Grand Slam victory during my career,” Monfils stated.
“I will not make any false claims about expecting to accomplish that feat within the coming year.”

However, the Spanish player and the world’s second-ranked player, Jannik Sinner, have together claimed victory in nine out of the most recent ten Grand Slam tournaments.
