The player acquisition period is evolving in a concerning manner for Newcastle United, but there’s no room for hesitation as the upcoming Premier League season rapidly approaches.
Newcastle’s failures in securing key targets, who have subsequently joined other teams, have become a recurring theme of mockery this summer. However, the situation ceased to be amusing when Liverpool acquired Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, and star striker Alexander Isak subsequently refused to accompany his teammates on their pre-season preparations.
Typically, a transfer is imminent once a player adopts such a stance, and Liverpool’s continued interest in the Swedish international after securing his potential replacement is a particularly painful addition to the situation.
Newcastle are poised to part ways with Alexander Isak, and a replacement is being considered

Newcastle have incorporated Anthony Elanga into their offensive resources but will necessitate a central striker if Isak follows Callum Wilson through the departure route.
Additionally, with participation in and potential qualification for the Champions League presenting a significant dual challenge, they’ll require a truly exceptional player.

There have been several promising strikers and forwards considered for potential transfers this summer. Isak and Ekitike have been in high demand, alongside new Manchester United players Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, and Arsenal are approaching a protracted agreement for Sporting CP’s prolific scorer Viktor Gyokeres.
United and Arsenal were also associated with Gyokeres, as well as 22-year-old Slovenian Benjamin Sesko, a product of the Red Bull system who has reached his potential at RB Leipzig but has four years remaining on his agreement.
Sesko will not be an inexpensive acquisition. He extended his agreement as recently as last year, although reports suggest a release clause of around €80 million has expired.
According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Philipp Hinze, Newcastle have initiated contact for a player whose prospects for a significant summer move were diminishing.

“Newcastle United are in discussions with Benjamin Sesko and his representatives,” Hinze reports. “RB Leipzig are aware of this.”
“The club has been informed about the inquiry. The Slovenian’s valuation remains around €80m, with a slight increase for potential bonus payments.
“Thus far, Leipzig has not received any formal offer for Sesko – neither from Newcastle nor from any other entity.”
Sesko is highly regarded and has showcased exceptional performances during his emerging career but has yet to attain the refinement and steadiness that Newcastle would forfeit if Isak were to depart.
Already a seasoned international competitor, Sesko spent four seasons with Red Bull Salzburg and their Austrian affiliate, Liefering, before transferring to Germany.
He has recorded 27 goals across 64 Bundesliga appearances for the Red Bulls.
