The progression of Week 4 in the National Football League is rapidly unfolding, with the Sunday morning and afternoon games having concluded, setting the stage for the face-off between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.”
The late afternoon segment, comprised of four games, featured a marquee matchup between star quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, as the Baltimore Ravens traveled to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams had experienced a sluggish start to the season in terms of wins and losses, entering Week 4 with identical 1-2 records.
The Ravens defense, contrary to its usual form, has struggled considerably at the outset of the season, largely due to injuries, and this week proved to be no different. The Chiefs managed to score 37 points against the Ravens, surpassing the 32-point mark for the first occasion since the 2023 season. Mahomes exhibited exceptional passing prowess, accounting for four touchdowns, connecting with various receivers including JuJu Smith-Schuster, Isiah Pacheco, Tyquan Thornton, and Hollywood Brown.

Adding to the Ravens’ woes, the loss was compounded by additional injuries — compounding existing concerns prior to Week 4. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson was forced to leave the game in the latter stages of the third quarter due to a hamstring injury and did not return to action.
Backup quarterback Cooper Rush was inserted into the game to fill the void, as Baltimore endeavored to overcome a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter. However, Rush was unable to orchestrate a successful comeback, resulting in the Ravens’ record falling to 1-3. Rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins was also escorted off the field during the game with an apparent arm injury. This outcome signifies the Ravens’ first 1-3 start since the 2015 season.
