Nick Bosa ACL Tear; Giants Uncertain on Wilson – NFL Updates

[Current NFL Updates]

The third week is nearing its conclusion, with only the Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills scheduled to finalize it with a significant Monday evening contest. Along with the final scores, several injuries demand attention emerging from Sunday’s games.

The significant update Monday arrived unexpectedly for the Atlanta Falcons, as it was disclosed that All-Pro pass rusher DeMarcus Ware would be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL. Ware exited the Falcons’ victory over the Seattle Seahawks prematurely, and while head coach Arthur Smith initially expressed optimism that he had avoided a severe injury, it represents yet another substantial injury Atlanta will have to contend with. The Falcons maintain a 3-0 record despite Desmond Ridder, Kyle Pitts, Jake Matthews, Drake London, Van Jefferson and now Ware all dealing with injuries. Quite a challenge.

The Los Angeles Rams also received unfavorable injury news on Monday, with wide receiver Cooper Kupp reportedly unlikely to participate in the next two weeks due to a high ankle sprain. Kupp departed Los Angeles’ Week 3 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals after sustaining the injury during a rushing play.

Elsewhere in the NFC West, Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon refrained from confirming whether Lamar Jackson would start Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints. Jackson struggled as the Cardinals succumbed to a 0-3 record with a loss to the Denver Broncos, and the offense has largely struggled to advance the ball this season with him leading it.

So, will the Cardinals opt for first-round rookie Will Levis? “We are assessing all possibilities,” Gannon informed reporters on Monday. In Gannon’s defense, he has consistently approached game weeks in this manner, dedicating the initial portion of them to thoroughly examining everything from the preceding week. However, the signs are increasingly indicating a QB change.

Two running backs will reportedly miss the rest of the season in the Saints’ Damien Harris and the Broncos’ Javonte Williams. Harris went down without contact while pushing off the turf with his left foot Sunday and was carted off the field. Williams, meanwhile, had his right ankle bent awkwardly on a tackle on Sunday.

Green Bay Packers receiver Romeo Doubs will undergo an MRI Tuesday on the hamstring injury that forced him out of the Packers’ win over the New England Patriots on Sunday. Head coach Matt LaFleur and the Packers believe it is not a serious injury, but further information is pending.
