Norrie Reaches Metz Final After Comeback.

Cameron Norrie, representing the UK, secured his inaugural final appearance of the 2025 season by triumphing over Lorenzo Sonego in three sets at the Moselle Open.

Norrie, seeded seventh and aged 30, had previously navigated three-set encounters in each of his initial three contests in Metz, twice rallying from a set deficit to achieve victory.

This pattern recurred as Sonego of Italy claimed the opening set of their semi-final clash, only for Norrie to ultimately secure a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory after precisely two hours of play.

Norrie, positioned at 27th in the global rankings, a margin of 15 places above Sonego, effectively defended against two break point opportunities early in the second set.

Subsequently maintaining firm control on his service games, bolstered by an 83% first-serve success rate throughout the match, Norrie generated numerous chances to break Sonego’s serve, ultimately capitalizing in the 10th game of the deciding set to seal the win.

In the final scheduled for Saturday, Norrie is set to face Learner Tien, a 19-year-old, subsequent to the American’s straight-set triumph over Vitaliy Sachko.
