A trio of NBA squads unveiled their City Edition uniforms for the 2025-2026 campaign this Friday. The Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, and Milwaukee Bucks will showcase their alternative attire from the 2019 to 2020 season, as the league proceeds with embracing a contemporary nostalgic motif for this year’s City Edition offerings.
Over the past several years, the reception from fans concerning the yearly alternative uniform releases had diminished, as the overarching themes and aesthetic layouts drifted away from the established norms and leaned more toward experimental designs. This particular season’s initiative might potentially ease some of the discontent, as teams are reverting back to the highly acclaimed releases from the City Edition era, a period which commenced in 2017-18.
The Nuggets achieved remarkable success with their City Edition design by bringing back the rainbow skyline pattern set against a black jersey. The widely adored uniform was met with an enthusiastic reception, and the unveiling by Denver occurred on the 149th anniversary of the State of Colorado, adding an extra layer of significance.
The Bucks’ roster for the 2025-26 season is now definitively set, as the team has opted to retain its Association, Icon, and Statement jerseys, which have been in use since 2023. Their City Edition top signifies the revival of the “Cream City” title, a nod to the cream-hued bricks utilized in the city’s construction during the 19th century. Milwaukee has also declared plans to introduce a specialized court design that will complement the jerseys.
The Hawks are revisiting their “Peachtree” uniforms, which serve as a tribute to the renowned Peachtree Street and the state of Georgia’s designation as the Peach State. The shorts of the uniform showcase a basketball shaped like a peach, and the complete outfit accentuates peach hues.
Further teams are slated to reveal their alternative uniforms in the forthcoming weeks and months. The finalized updates are anticipated to be released just ahead of the season’s commencement, scheduled for Oct. 21.
