West Ham have ended their association with head coach Nuno Espírito Santo due to a disappointing start to the season.
The Portuguese manager faced mounting pressure following a challenging beginning to the Championship season, with West Ham currently positioned eighth in the standings after 13 matches.
A 3-1 defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, marking their second consecutive loss at the London Stadium, further heightened concerns regarding Nuno’s performance.
It has now been officially announced that the former Spurs and Wolves manager has been relieved of his duties in east London.
A statement indicated: “West Ham United can confirm that men’s first-team Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo has left his role with immediate effect.
“Following a comprehensive review of the beginning of the EFL Championship season, the Board of Directors has determined that a change is essential at this juncture to ensure that the Club’s objectives and expectations are met.
“Assistant Head Coach Rui Pedro Silva and Goalkeeper Coach Rui Barbosa have also been let go.
“West Ham United expresses gratitude to Nuno, Rui, and Rui for their dedication and hard work during their tenure at the Club, and wishes them the very best in their future endeavors.
“The search for a new Head Coach is currently in progress.
“Mark Noble, Steve Potts, and Gerard Prenderville will temporarily oversee squad preparations as they gear up for tomorrow evening’s EFL Championship match against Cardiff City, and the Club will refrain from further comments until the new Head Coach’s appointment is finalized.”
