It is anticipated that Nuno Espirito Santo will lead Nottingham Forest in their Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
On Friday, Nuno commented in a way that intensified speculation regarding his job security, suggesting that rumors often have a basis in reality.
The Portuguese manager, who agreed to a contract extension in June after guiding Forest to European competition for the first time since 1995, acknowledged that his rapport with owner Evangelos Marinakis had suffered, partly due to the appointment of Edu Gaspar as global head of football.
His forthright remarks during the pre-match press conference for the Palace game, which occurred a week after his public criticism of the club’s transfer dealings during the summer, reportedly shocked club officials.
Nevertheless, Nuno is slated to manage Sunday’s match at Selhurst Park unless there is another significant shift in the lead-up to the game.
Forest practiced on Saturday morning and are scheduled to travel to London later in the day.
The match carries additional weight due to Forest taking Palace’s spot in the Europa League after the London club faced consequences for violating multi-club ownership regulations.
Palace chairman Steve Parish publicly held Forest accountable for the decision, alleging they contacted UEFA with their concerns — and Palace’s appeal was rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The game is scheduled for Sunday because Palace participated in Europa Conference League qualifying on Thursday, a match that Forest was originally intended to play.
Nuno, during the same press conference where he expressed uncertainty about his future, anticipates this will influence the atmosphere.
“Particularly because of the ongoing narrative that Forest is responsible, which isn’t accurate,” he stated.
“I believe we performed admirably last season to qualify for Europe. We are pleased to encounter a slight hurdle. But what transpired?
“I don’t believe we are to blame, but I anticipate a challenging atmosphere during Sunday’s game, with all due respect.”
