OG Esports has moved Nico ‘nicoodoz‘ Tamjidi and Christoffer ‘Chr1zN‘ Storgaard to the inactive roster from its Counter-Strike 2 lineup.
This determination arises following the European esports group’s inability to secure qualification for the StarLadder Budapest Major scheduled for November.
Chr1zN’s departure from the starting lineup comes after a duration of 14 months serving as the team’s in-game strategist, whereas nicoodoz exits after being an AWPer for six months.
Nicoodoz’s arrival back in April injected renewed vigour into OG Esports, aiding the squad in obtaining a position at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, where they successfully progressed to Stage 2.
Chr1zN became an OG member in August of 2024 and succeeded in maintaining his spot even while the team implemented supplementary changes to cultivate a lineup capable of contending on an international level.
Shortly after making the announcement regarding the team changes, the organization released a statement reiterating its dedication to Counter-Strike esports:
“Our team is diligently working behind the scenes to construct a lineup that embodies this new ambition and the values that have always defined OG: unwavering resolve, passion, and the continuous striving for excellence.”
Currently holding the 28th position in October’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS), OG Esports has exhibited glimpses of its potential to challenge established names. A report from Dust2.dk indicates that Casper ‘CadiaN‘ Møller is allegedly among the players anticipated to join the team.
OG Esports in 2025
The placement of Nicoodoz and Chr1zN on the bench represents the most recent team adjustment for OG. Back in July, the organization separated from Maciej ‘F1KU’ Miklas after his three-year tenure on the starting roster.
Apart from its endeavours in Counter-Strike, the organization’s initiatives aimed at enhancing fan engagement have seen sustained expansion. Its fan token exceeded a $100m (~£76.1m) market capitalization after its launch in 2020.
OG Esports’ ownership has also undergone alteration. During September, The Chiliz Group acquired a 51% controlling ownership in the organization, with co-founder and shareholder Xavier Oswald stepping into the position of CEO.
