The Ospreys will use Bridgend’s Brewery Field, which holds 8,000 spectators, as their temporary location for the entirety of the 2025/26 season.
The Ospreys had anticipated holding a portion of the season at St Helen’s, but scheduled refurbishment activities will not be finished on schedule for them to host URC and Challenge Cup rivals in Swansea.
Brewery Field has previously been the site of Ospreys league and European contests and was deemed the optimal choice while their new stadium is upgraded.
Beyond their usual URC matches, the Ospreys will host Connacht and Montpellier at Brewery Field in the EPCR Challenge Cup.
Ospreys CEO, Lance Bradley, stated “Although we had wanted St Helen’s to be ready for this season, the proposed designs for a permanent South Stand, which emerged later in our planning phase, meant that the timing was not achievable. We have decided to play one season at the Dunraven Brewery Field in Bridgend while we get St Helen’s to the standards that Ospreys and our fans expect, because we want to deliver the greatest experience possible from the start.
“I would like to personally express my gratitude to Bridgend Ravens and Bridgend Council for their exceptional support in allowing us to play at Brewery Field this season. My thanks also extend to the City and Council of Swansea for their ongoing support in assisting us in realizing our vision for St Helen’s.”
The Ospreys have also verified that they have reached an agreement to finalize a lease that will make St Helen’s the club’s new permanent home, starting in 2026. This declaration follows last week’s report that Swansea Council’s planning committee unanimously approved the redevelopment proposals.
This signifies a crucial turning point in the Ospreys’ relocation to St Helen’s, a location rich in history and tradition. The initial phase of the redevelopment will involve roofing the terrace, installing a new and repositioned 3G pitch, renovating the existing clubhouse, creating a new fan zone, and installing new stands.
