The esports competition organizer PGL has formed an alliance with ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) for the 2026 competitive period.
Following this agreement, the hardware manufacturer will serve as PGL’s designated partner for personal computers, displays, and accessories throughout its series of Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 events scheduled for the upcoming ten-month span.
This **partnership** between the two entities seeks to enhance uniformity throughout PGL’s primary competition stages and training zones. ASUS ROG intends to furnish every main stage and practice venue with identical gear to establish a ‘harmonized technological setting for competitors’.
The chosen device for these esports competitions is ASUS ROG’s Strix XG248QSG Ace display. Boasting a lightning-fast 0.1 ms response time and a refresh rate reaching 610 Hz, these screens provide competitors with exceptional performance, crucial in scenarios where decisions are made in fractions of a second.
“This cooperative effort assists us in aligning our competition configurations with the sophisticated technical requirements of contemporary esports,” stated Silviu Stroie, the Chief Executive Officer for PGL.
“By instituting a standard with ROG Strix displays, our goal is to provide participating teams with uniform visual conditions at each event, allowing them to concentrate entirely on their gameplay.”
PGL is now the second event organizer this year to forge an alliance with ASUS ROG. The peripherals manufacturer had previously, on February 9th, extended its ongoing agreement with **peer tournament organizer BLAST** to back its **BLAST Premier** season.
PGL’s Agenda for 2026
The year 2026 appears to be a demanding period for PGL, with preparations underway for its inaugural Tier 1 Counter-Strike 2 competition, scheduled from February 14th to 22nd in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
In addition to its full schedule of competitions, the event orchestrator is consistently broadening its roster of collaborators. December 2025 saw PGL join forces with **gaming furniture producer Secretlab** in an arrangement poised to supply various furnishings for both training and main stage environments.
Beyond its Counter-Strike and Dota 2 tournament series, PGL is set to organize the year’s second Counter-Strike Major in Singapore. The **PGL Singapore Major 2026** will serve as the concluding event of the season, where the global top 32 teams will contend for a portion of the $1.25 million (approximately £917,131) prize pool.
