Pimblett pokes fun at his face after UFC 324 Gaethje loss

Paddy Pimblett is openly addressing his defeat against Justin Gaethje at UFC 324.

In January, Pimblett and Gaethje headlined the inaugural UFC event on Paramount+. Despite “The Baddy” being the favored contender, “The Highlight” showcased that his ambition for an undisputed UFC title remains strong. Gaethje dominated Pimblett, securing a unanimous decision win and claiming the interim UFC Lightweight Championship.

A week following the loss, Pimblett uploaded a video to his YouTube channel, humorously commenting on the temporary disfigurement of his face post-bout.

“What I found amusing was my pre-fight comment about wanting to alter his appearance, only for him to do the same to mine for a few days,” Pimblett remarked. “I was sporting significant black eyes.”

Pimblett’s facial injuries have healed substantially, and he announced an approximate schedule for his upcoming fight.

“That represented the peak of the damage,” Pimblett stated. “My eyes were quite swollen, yet a week later, as you can observe, I’m perfectly fine. My only issue might be a minor corneal abrasion. I intend to return to training tomorrow. Despite speculation that I’d be sidelined for the remainder of the year, that’s not the case. I plan to compete this summer.”

Pimblett aims to regain momentum following his unsuccessful attempt at the interim championship. Before his defeat to Gaethje, “The Baddy” had compiled an impressive nine consecutive victories. He maintains his position within the top five of the UFC lightweight division and is expected to remain a contender for the title.
