The temperatures are decreasing, but my confidence isn’t.
Fortunately.
Following a disappointing Week 2, I’ve experienced two very successful weeks selecting games, both concerning point spreads and outright results.
I achieved a 10-6 record against the spread last week, elevating my season total to 36-28. Furthermore, my straight-up picks went 12-3-1, improving that record to 49-14-1. While the schedule is shorter due to four teams having byes this week, that suits me just fine. I feel optimistic about the 14 contests we do have.
Let’s aim to prolong this winning streak.

There’s a possibility that Dillon Gabriel will be the Browns’ quarterback, meaning the rookie’s inaugural NFL start occurs abroad against Brian Flores’ intricate defensive strategies. That presents a significant hurdle. However, the Vikings also face offensive challenges, particularly with injuries along the offensive line. This is detrimental when facing the Browns’ defense. I believe Gabriel will perform adequately, and the defense will maintain the Browns’ competitiveness.
Pick: Vikings 20, Browns 17 | Odds via BetMGM
Bonus: NFL betting expert R.J. White is currently on a remarkable 37-13 streak with his Vikings game selections, and he has already finalized his pick for this matchup at SportsLine.

The Cowboys are coming off a home tie with the Packers, a game where their offensive performance was strong. Dak Prescott has consistently played well throughout the season. The Jets’ defense, however, has not. This provides an advantage for Dallas. The Jets have a 0-4 record, displaying sloppiness and an inability to create turnovers. The Cowboys and Prescott are poised to secure victory.
Pick: Cowboys 30, Jets 20 | Odds via Caesars Sportsbook

This represents a lengthy journey on a short week for the Broncos, a less than ideal scenario. However, they are riding the momentum of a Monday night victory where Bo Nix exhibited improved play. This is crucial after his initial struggles. The Eagles maintain a 4-0 record, though their statistics don’t suggest a dominant team. Philadelphia will manage to secure a win, but the Denver defense will ensure a close contest.
Pick: Eagles 24, Broncos 23 | Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook, where new users get $300 in bonus bets with a winning $5 bet:

The Ravens are facing difficulties, especially on the defensive end, and may now have to contend with the absence of Lamar Jackson due to a hamstring ailment. This presents a significant challenge. The Texans secured their first victory last week against the Titans and demonstrated offensive promise. Their defense is noteworthy. I anticipate that they will remain competitive and ultimately win without Jackson on the field.
Pick: Texans 21, Ravens 20 | Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

The Colts are coming off their first defeat against the Rams, although they performed well in that game. The Raiders suffered a loss to the Bears when a field goal attempt was blocked as time expired, and Geno Smith’s three interceptions hampered their efforts. I expect him to play better here, particularly with Ashton Jeanty gaining traction in the backfield. They will remain competitive, but the Colts will ultimately prevail.
Pick: Colts 30, Raiders 27 | Odds via Caesars Sportsbook

The Dolphins are traveling to Carolina following their first win, albeit without Tyreek Hill, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season. This represents a significant setback for their offense. The Panthers, however, are experiencing offensive struggles and were soundly defeated by New England last week. This provides the Dolphins with an opportunity to secure their second victory — and I anticipate they will.
Pick: Dolphins 24, Panthers 19 | Odds via BetMGM
Sunday, 1 p.m. on CBS (Stream on Paramount+)
This marks Jaxson Dart’s first road start after achieving a home victory last week. He displayed positive attributes, but the absence of Malik Nabers amplifies the challenge. The Saints remained competitive on the road against the Bills last week, and I foresee them remaining competitive and winning this contest. The road environment will prove too demanding for Dart.
Pick: Saints 23, Giants 17 | Odds via Caesars Sportsbook, where new users get 20 100% profit boosts with the code CBS20X:

This constitutes a lengthy trip for a Tampa Bay team coming off its first loss. Seattle has achieved three consecutive victories, fueled by a staunch defense and Sam Darnold’s successful deep passes. However, the Seahawks haven’t performed as effectively at home under coach Mike Macdonald. Expect Baker Mayfield to engineer a late victory.
Pick: Buccaneers 26, Seahawks 23 | Odds via BetMGM
Sunday, 4:05 p.m. on CBS (Stream on Paramount+)
The Titans are playing consecutive road games after being shut out by the Texans in Houston last week. Arizona suffered a loss to the Seahawks and is also grappling with offensive challenges. However, this Titans team may provide the perfect remedy. Kyler Murray will perform strongly as the Titans’ struggles persist.
Pick: Cardinals 27, Titans 13 | Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
Sunday, 4:25 p.m. on Fox (Stream: Fubo — try for free)
The Bengals are playing on a short week following a Monday night defeat by Denver. Jake Browning is facing difficulties behind a subpar offensive line. The Lions’ offensive performance against the Browns last week didn’t match their previous standards, but this will change. Jared Goff will regain his form. Lions by a significant margin.
Pick: Lions 33, Bengals 20 | Odds via Caesars Sportsbook
Sunday, 4:25 p.m. on Fox (Stream: Fubo — try for free)
The Commanders should have Jayden Daniels back in the lineup after he was sidelined for the past two weeks. The Chargers are coming off their first loss to the Giants last week. They are contending with injuries along the offensive line, but I anticipate that Justin Herbert will still manage to exploit the Commanders’ defense. The Chargers will get back on track.
Pick: Chargers 34, Commanders 24 | Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
Sunday, 8:20 p.m. on NBC (Stream: Fubo — try for free)
The Patriots impressed with their dominant victory over Carolina last week, but this represents a significant step up in competition. Facing the Bills at their home stadium on a Sunday night presents a formidable challenge. The Bills have demonstrated exceptional offensive capabilities, and this will continue in this game. Look for Josh Allen to deliver a strong performance as the Bills secure victory.
Pick: Bills 31, Patriots 20 | Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC, ESPN (Stream: Fubo — try for free)
The Chiefs impressed with their victory over the Ravens last week, but now face a surprisingly strong Jacksonville team on the road on Monday night. This will not be an easy task. The Jaguars’ defense has forced 13 turnovers. I predict they will secure two in this game, and I also believe their offense will contribute sufficiently. Upset special.
Pick: Jaguars 23, Chiefs 21 | Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
