Ravens’ Jackson practices, status vs. Bears uncertain.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Baltimore Ravens field general Lamar Jackson was in uniform today for the first occasion in almost a month, but it’s not yet known if the twice-named NFL Most Valuable Player will be under center for Sunday’s contest against the Chicago Bears, who will be visiting.

Jackson, who has been kept off the field for the previous couple of games due to an injury to his right hamstring, came onto the playing surface 18 minutes after practice began on Wednesday, participating on a limited basis. He performed repetitions following substitutes Tyler Huntley and Cooper Rush.

When questioned regarding the possibility of Jackson participating on Sunday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh stated, “It’s challenging to assign a definite figure to it. It constitutes a phase in the ongoing process. I honestly don’t possess any injury-related information that I can share with you presently.”

The Ravens have minimal leeway moving forward, following their recent streak of four consecutive defeats, leading to a season record of 1-5, which reflects the franchise’s poorest commencement to a season in its history.

During the media’s designated half-hour observation period on Wednesday, Jackson engaged in some gentle running exercises, but refrained from sprinting at maximum velocity. His last practice session was prior to his departure in the third quarter of a 37-20 defeat against Kansas City on Sept. 28.

Harbaugh remained vague concerning which reserve player would take Jackson’s position if he were unable to participate on Sunday.

“There is no advantage in providing any sort of commentary on that subject,” Harbaugh commented. “We perceive no necessity to disseminate that specific piece of information.”

Baltimore may make the decision to utilize Huntley, who was substituted for Rush, who was removed from his position, in their previous match. Throughout Rush’s pair of starts, he has failed to generate any touchdown passes and has been accountable for five turnovers.

Huntley possesses a record of 3-6 as a temporary starting quarterback for Baltimore.

The Ravens have been unsuccessful in their previous half-dozen games when Jackson has been absent.

“Evidently, his presence was missed,” Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum commented regarding Jackson. “He will undoubtedly demonstrate continual progression. We will be pleased upon his return, whenever that might occur.”
