In a deeply emotional message directed to their supporters, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has ended their three-month period of inactivity following the unfortunate crowd surge in June of this year. The organization expressed that their lack of engagement on social media was not indifference, but instead a duration of intense sorrow and contemplation.
Three month silence rooted in grief and reflection
In a message on X, RCB indicated that almost ninety days have passed since their previous communication. The management clarified that the silence was related to a period of bereavement, not inattention. What was once a platform brimming with excitement, recollections, and treasured occasions, underwent a significant transformation on June 4, a date that caused profound heartbreak. The group stated that the silence served as their method of respectfully acknowledging the situation as they mourned, considered, and gained insight.
“It’s been close to three months since we last posted here. The Silence wasn’t Absence. It was Grief. This space was once filled with energy, memories and moments that you enjoyed the most. But June 4th changed everything. That day broke our hearts, and the silence since then has been our way of holding space. In that silence, we’ve been grieving. Listening. Learning. And slowly, we’ve begun to build something more than just a response. Something we truly believe in,” the letter stated.
Franchise vows to walk forward together with fans after June tragedy
RCB has reactivated its social media presence, conveying that their return is motivated by empathy, not celebration. The team is dedicated to supporting their fan base and advancing in unity, reaffirming their commitment to consistently represent the pride of Karnataka. Further specifics will be disclosed shortly.
“We return to this space today, not with celebration but with care. To share. To stand with you. To walk forward, together. To continue being the pride of Karnataka. RCB CARES. And we always will. More details soon…,” the letter added.
RCB secured their first IPL championship by overcoming Punjab Kings (PBKS) on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. However, the jubilation took a devastating turn the following day, as eleven individuals tragically died as a result of celebratory crowds in a rush outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
