The racing simulation game Rennsport has modified its pricing strategy in anticipation of its full release on PC and consoles, scheduled for later in 2025.
The game was introduced to early access in December 2024, utilizing a free-to-try approach, enabling players to acquire supplemental content via the in-game marketplace.
Prior to its arrival on multiple platforms, Rennsport is transitioning from the free-to-play structure towards a ‘packaged’ format. This evolution will present gamers with the chance to purchase standard and deluxe versions. Alongside these editions, the game will still provide a restricted free-to-try variant on PC.
Further to adopting a revised retail strategy, Rennsport’s battle pass system will also be retired prior to the version 1.0 update scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Individuals who invested in Gold and Platinum Founder’s Packs during the game’s early access phase will be granted a complimentary copy of Rennsport’s standard version. Those who opted for the Diamond Founder’s Pack will obtain the deluxe version, inclusive of a pair of downloadable content packs.
The standard version will encompass 18 vehicles and 13 circuits, whereas the deluxe version includes all the fundamental game content, the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, Porsche 911 GT3 R, and access to the two DLC packs scheduled to debut in late 2025 and early 2026.
RENN$, Rennsport’s internal gaming currency, will also be carried over from the early access period into the complete version.
The Future Of Rennsport Esports
From its initial unveiling, Rennsport has channelled its resources into leveraging esports as a promotional vehicle for the game.
Spanning March to July, the Rennsport R1 2025 Spring Season showcased 12 organisations vying for nine spots at the the Rennsport R1 Major, a component of the Esports World Cup. Team Redline emerged victorious, securing $200,000 (~£148,469) in monetary rewards.
Following the culmination of the Spring season in Riyadh, Rennsport has not yet disclosed specifics concerning the trajectory of the game’s esports ecosystem. The occurrence of an additional season before the conclusion of 2025 remains uncertain.
