Rocket League has introduced a collection of virtual banners within the game to honor the champions of Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) competitions.
These commemorative banners, recognizing the victors from the 2025 season, were integrated into the vehicular soccer game on January 22nd, 2026, through the v2.64 update.
Displayed within the Champions Field arena, flags recognizing NRG’s triumph at the World Championship and Hisham ‘Nwpo‘ Alqadi’s success in the individual 1v1 event are suspended from the venue’s ceiling alongside other flags from prior RLCS seasons.
After each RLCS season concludes, Rocket League incorporates these banners into Champions Field to acknowledge the accomplishments of the winners.
Beyond the introduction of the banners, the v2.64 update also featured the release of Cartman’s Crash Out LTE, aligning with Epic Games’ broader partnership with South Park. The animated show initiated a collaboration with Fortnite on January 9th, bringing forth fresh missions and decorative elements.
Rocket League is not unique among esports titles in recognizing significant tournament outcomes by adding in-game elements. In December 2025, Activision honored the Call of Duty: Warzone community by recognizing the champions of the World Series of Warzone and the Esports World Cup with various virtual banners and sculptures.
The Future of the RLCS?
Aside from game updates, the 2026 RLCS season is actively progressing, with various regions participating in the second online qualifier of the Boston Major series. Karmine Corp and MIBR emerged victorious in the European and South American competitions, respectively, leading both teams to the top of the leaderboards.
The online qualification rounds for the Boston Major will proceed on January 23rd, featuring the group stage for North America. Reigning world champions NRG will commence their Group A matches against Shuffles Kittens, whereas Shopify Rebellion will compete against Dignitas in Group B.
Shopify Rebellion aims to achieve another win, having already triumphed in the season’s initial qualifier. The victorious squad will receive $21,000 (approximately £15,521) in prize earnings, coupled with 15 RLCS points which are crucial for determining which teams advance to the Boston Major scheduled for February.
