The highly anticipated Ryder Cup is commencing.
The American squad and the European squad will compete on Friday morning at Bethpage Black in New York, vying for possession of the celebrated gold trophy. The Americans, now guided by captain Keegan Bradley, are aiming to overcome a painful defeat suffered two years prior in Rome. The European team, which achieved victory in Italy, has returned with a largely unchanged lineup. Despite having lost their last two competitions on American soil, the Europeans have impressively won eight of the past 11 Ryder Cups.

Competition commences Friday morning with a sequence of four foursomes matches, also referred to as alternate shot matches. Subsequently, the two teams will return in the afternoon for four four-ball, or best ball, matches to conclude the day. This format will be replicated on Saturday, after which all 12 golfers from each team will participate in their singles matches on Sunday. Each match offers a single point, although each team will receive a half point in the event of a tie. The first team to secure a minimum of 14.5 points emerges as the victor.
Bethpage Black is hosting the Ryder Cup for the first time, and ticket values have reached substantial levels. Former President Donald Trump is anticipated to attend the matches on Friday afternoon, resulting in increased security measures at the renowned Long Island course.
