Siasarani’s turbulent path to ONE Championship

Mohammad Siasarani first entered ONE Championship expecting to take hits. Three years on, he had mastered the art of delivering them instead.

The 23-year-old Iranian fighter secured a $100,000 deal with ONE Championship subsequent to his knockout victory over Jo Nattawut at ONE Friday Fights 137, held on Friday, December 19, within Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium. This second-round conclusion marked the culmination of a path that commenced with sheer resilience and concluded with deliberate aggression.

Siasarani initiated his participation in ONE Friday Fights during January 2023, facing Avatar PK Saenchai. He withstood blows, endured intense pressure, and ultimately secured a victory via majority decision. While this showing demonstrated immense courage, it was not particularly refined. This aspect evolved progressively.

Four months subsequent, the athlete from Team Mehdi Zatout transitioned to kickboxing, competing against the distinguished Moroccan fighter Mohammed Boutasaa. He intentionally lowered his defenses to lure counter-attacks, subsequently delivering more impactful strikes. His unanimous decision win astonished those who had solely perceived him as physically resilient. He demonstrated intellectual prowess in his approach.

Mohammad Siasarani constructed his contract argument via notable triumphs

This positive impetus continued into July, when he competed in Muay Thai against Mohammad Satanfah Sitsongpeenong. Siasarani experienced a knockdown in the initial round, yet instantly retaliated with a knockdown of his own. He then intensified his assault, concluding the contest against the Thai fighter with a series of punches prior to the round’s conclusion. This decisive ending signified his transformation from someone who merely endured to someone who dominated.

His surprising defeat of the renowned fighter Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in September solidified his standing. He caused the Thai luminary to fall in the second round and dictated the tempo to achieve a unanimous decision. This win concluded an unblemished year of competition in 2023 for him.

However, the year 2024 presented challenging circumstances. Shadow Singha Mawynn landed a powerful liver shot against him in September. Khunsuek then brought him down with a head kick two months following. These consecutive unanimous decision defeats highlighted deficiencies requiring rectification.

Siasarani addressed those learned lessons in 2025. He overcame the ascendant Liu Mengyang through a split decision in April, which represented the Chinese striker’s sole defeat within ONE Championship. Subsequently, he bested Japanese newcomer Kaito Ono and Polish competitor Oskar Siegert, thereby establishing a three-bout winning streak.

The conclusive knockout of Nattawut brought everything together. A well-executed one-two punch sequence rendered the ex-world title contender unconscious during the second round. This decisive action demonstrated measured execution combined with force. His inherent resilience evolved into a highly accurate finishing capability, securing Siasarani a position on the primary roster.

Mohammad Siasarani now enters the international arena with a 7-2 record in ONE Championship and an active four-bout winning streak.
