It is anticipated that Stephen Curry will be sidelined for approximately one week due to a quad contusion sustained during the Golden State Warriors’ contest against the Houston Rockets, as reported by ESPN. The duration of Curry’s absence hinges on his response to the prescribed medical care.

Despite the impending missed games, it is believed that Curry has circumvented a more severe ailment. The injury occurred as he attempted to draw a charge with 3:24 remaining in the game. He was observed walking with a noticeable limp towards the locker room in the final minute of Golden State’s eventual 104-100 defeat.

“Upon learning that it was a quad injury, I felt a sense of relief,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr stated following the game. “It’s preferable to an ankle or knee injury.”

According to the report, Curry is set to miss at a minimum the Warriors’ forthcoming home matchups against the New Orleans Pelicans and the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Subsequently, Golden State is scheduled to embark on a four-game road series against the Philadelphia 76ers, commencing eight days following Curry’s injury.

The Warriors currently hold a record of 10-10, positioning them eighth in the Western Conference standings. Recent defensive performance, or the lack thereof, has emerged as a significant concern for the Warriors.

“Our level of effort is often influenced by our offensive performance,” Warriors guard Jimmy Butler commented after Wednesday night’s setback. “When our shots are falling, we’re engaged, celebrating, and showing enthusiasm. However, when we struggle offensively and the game doesn’t favor us, we become discouraged, neglect boxing out, fail to hustle back on defense, and resort to fouling. We exhibit several detrimental habits.”
