On Thursday, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce showed up together as a newly betrothed couple at Arrowhead Stadium.
The celebrated singer and the Kansas City Chiefs’ prominent tight end observed Cincinnati’s team compete against Nebraska’s team from a private box. Travis Kelce attended Cincinnati before his selection during the third phase of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Chiefs. Accompanying the couple in the suite were Patrick Mahomes, Jason Kelce, and a few others who came to observe the game.
Kelce and Swift revealed their engagement Tuesday through posts on different social media platforms. Kelce’s dad, Ed, revealed to Scripps News Cleveland that the proposal occurred a couple of weeks prior to its formal announcement. Ed Kelce detailed that Travis proposed just before the two were scheduled to have dinner, and afterward, they contacted their families via FaceTime to share the happy news.
Kelce participated in three seasons, spending four years at Cincinnati from 2009 to 2012. During his first year, he played in 11 games, securing a single reception as a freshman before facing a suspension for the 2010 season because of a failed drug test. In 2012, he had an impressive record of 45 receptions, accumulating 722 yards and eight touchdowns.
Thursday’s match marks the first college football event that Swift has attended ever since her relationship with Kelce began. She has been a consistent presence at Arrowhead Stadium for Chiefs’ matches and will probably be present when the Chiefs face the Eagles in a Super Bowl LIX rematch in Week 2.
