The prominent esports house Team Spirit has revealed its intentions to establish an initial training division centered around Dota 2.
Danil ‘MeTTpuM‘ Gilev will undertake the coaching duties for the team, while Semyon ‘Paradise‘ Volkov will oversee management, and Bakuri ‘baki_1014‘ Mortshulava will contribute as the team’s analyst.
In their announcement, Team Spirit commented: “Team Spirit Academy is broadening its focus to encompass another discipline within esports. Dota 2 now joins the existing projects in CS2 and ML:BB. For us, this decision was only a matter of when, as the history of Team Spirit commenced with the establishment of our Dota roster.”
The following list details the inaugural Dota 2 training roster representing TS:
- Vladislav ‘rubikon155‘ Gaideu
- Arsentii ‘86‘ Babiuk
- Rusline ‘SunshineRR‘ Lakhonia
- Aidar ‘Aidar‘ Nurgalin
- Danil ‘Kyford‘ Gorbachev
Historically, Team Spirit’s championship-winning lineup for The International 10 in 2021 was cultivated through a project of similar nature. Nevertheless, only time can reveal the future performance of the organisation’s latest training roster, or whether they will attain a similar degree of success.
Team Spirit in 2025
Team Spirit has consistently been a prominent force within the Dota 2 community, yet the primary roster has encountered varying degrees of achievement throughout the 2025 season.
Key high points include their victory at DreamLeague Season 25 in March, where they triumphed over Tundra Esports with a score of 3-2 in the Grand Finals, securing prize money of $250,000 (~£190,200). Subsequently, they achieved another notable triumph during the Esports World Cup’s Dota 2 event, where they prevailed over Team Falcons with a score of 3-0, earning $1m (~£760,800).
TS also received an invitation to The International 2025, but experienced a disappointing outcome with an early exit. They advanced to the Elimination Round of the Group Stage, where they were defeated 2-0 by Team Falcons.
The main roster most recently participated in FISSURE Playground 2, achieving fifth place out of 16 teams after their loss to Team Falcons with a score of 1-2 in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals.
