The French esports entity, Team Vitality, has declared its departure from the competitive landscape of StarCraft II, concluding a two-year involvement.

This organization initially ventured into the real-time strategy (RTS) game in 2024, enlisting a quartet of South Korean professional gamers to participate in prominent competitions.

Through a video disseminated via social media platforms, the group extended its appreciation to the three players — Cho ‘Maru‘ Seong-ju, Kim ‘Ryung‘ Dong-won, and Park ‘Zoun‘ Han-sol — as well as General Manager Choi ‘CranK‘ Jae-won, for their contributions while representing the Team Vitality banner.

During his tenure with the squad, Maru garnered considerable triumphs in various global competitions. He secured victory at DreamHack Dallas in 2025 and also attained a top-eight placement at the Esports World Cup. Beyond personal honors, the organization collectively placed as runner-up in the World Team League 2024 Summer.

The withdrawal of Team Vitality from the StarCraft competitive scene aligns with the game’s exclusion from the upcoming Esports World Cup roster. Subsequent to the choice to omit the game, fans persist in expressing their disappointment regarding the absence of StarCraft II and any RTS title from the multi-game championship.

Consequent to the organization’s departure, the three players have reconvened beneath the ONSYDE emblem. Formed in 2022, the squad had previously divided its members between Team Vitality and OFFSYDE Esports in 2024 before their reunion for participation in the 2026 season.

A Further Initiative by Team Vitality

During the initial three months of 2026, Team Vitality has consistently undertaken various actions to solidify its position as a leading global esports entity. On March 5th, the organization enlisted the 2024 French chess champion, Jules Moussard, for participation in forthcoming competitions.

Additionally, Team Vitality deepened its involvement in sim racing subsequent to withdrawing from the RENNSPORT R1 event. In this expansion, the organization recruited three Gran Turismo racers to contend in the forthcoming World Series season.

Furthermore, Team Vitality persistently draws prominent brands as collaborators. In February, it finalized an alliance with the French retail chain E.Leclerc, aiming to develop programs that advocate for well-being and dietary health.
