Tottenham has announced Igor Tudor as the club’s new temporary head coach.
Tudor assumes control in north London following the conclusion of Thomas Frank’s eight-month tenure, which ended after Wednesday’s Premier League loss against Newcastle United.
The Croatian strategist had been unemployed since his dismissal from Juventus in October, a period when the Serie A powerhouse experienced an unusual streak of eight matches without a victory.
Prior to his time with the Bianconeri, he also previously led numerous teams such as Lazio, Marseille, Udinese, and Hajduk Split, securing the Croatian Cup with the final team mentioned in 2013.
Commenting on his appointment, Igor stated: “It’s a privilege to become part of this organization during a pivotal period.
“I comprehend the duties entrusted to me, and my objective is unambiguous.
“To foster enhanced steadiness in our displays and engage in every contest with unwavering belief.
“This team possesses considerable talent, and my role involves structuring it, invigorating it, and swiftly elevating our outcomes.”
Prior to naming the 47-year-old on a strictly temporary assignment, Spurs had evaluated former Bundesliga strategists Edin Terzić and Marco Rose as potential successors to Frank.
Tudor’s inaugural match overseeing the Lilywhites is slated for Sunday’s north London derby, facing Premier League frontrunners Arsenal, whose advantage has been reduced to a four-point margin.
