The Egyptian Tennis Federation communicated to the BBC that Abdelkader had never been registered as an Egyptian player and was not entered into the competition representing Egypt.
Dia Nabil Loutfy, technical director for the Egyptian Tennis Federation, stated: “We wish to make it clear that she holds no registration with the Egyptian Tennis Federation, nor is she listed in any of our official player rosters.
“According to the information available to us, the athlete previously resided in Kenya and took part in the ITF tournament in Nairobi thanks to a special invitation granted by the Kenyan Tennis Federation.
“The Egyptian Tennis Federation played no role whatsoever, whether directly or indirectly, in the recommendation, endorsement, or issuance of this special invitation, and we were not involved in the player’s entry into the tournament through any means.”
The organization affirmed it possessed no documentation concerning Abdelkader, and asserted she had never held any association with the Egyptian Tennis Federation.
