UFC 319: Du Plessis vs. Chimaev Poster Revealed

Once more, Dricus du Plessis takes center stage with yet another perilous championship confrontation looming.

The official promotional visual for UFC 319 has been revealed, showcasing du Plessis and the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev in a direct confrontation. Du Plessis versus Chimaev headlines the UFC’s return to United Center in Chicago on Aug. 16.

Du Plessis (23-2) has yet to suffer a defeat within the octagon, maintaining a flawless 9-0 record since his UFC debut in 2020. He aims for his third successive title defense after victories over Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland.

Standing in opposition to du Plessis is Chimaev, boasting an 8-0 record in the UFC, with six of those wins achieved through knockout or submission. In his most recent appearance, Chimaev executed a terrifying face crank submission on Robert Whittaker, resulting in the displacement of some of the former champion’s teeth.

While a co-main event has not been formally announced for the Aug. 16 event, the card features several significant matchups. Veteran middleweight contender Jared Cannonier will face Michael Page, while a welterweight contenders’ bout between Geoff Neal and Carlos Prates is slated to occur in Chicago.
