The VALORANT competitive circuit has showcased the characters with the greatest selection frequencies during all Stage 2 league matches.
Encompassing all four geographical zones in Riot Games’ tactical shooter, a consistent trio of characters ranked at the top in terms of popularity.
As shared on VCT’s digital platforms, Omen stood out as the most frequently chosen character in Stage 2 across every area. The Controller was present in at least 74% of competitive matchups. VCT China displayed the highest rate of Omen selection, hitting 86%.
In VCT Americas and VCT Pacific, Viper secured the position of the second-most favored character by competing teams, registering at 59% and 56% respectively. The agent’s skill set is often essential for obstructing enemy visibility when initiating attacks on objectives.
Distinct from other locales, Viper held the third position in the character selection in VCT China and VCT EMEA, showing selection rates of 50% and 46% individually. This shows a difference in meta across the different regions.
In EMEA and China, Sova claimed the spot as the second-most chosen character in Stage 2, with 54% and 52% of teams opting for this Initiator within their team makeups. Sova landed in third place for character choice during Stage 2 in the Pacific and Americas, at a pick rate of 51%.
Where Is VALORANT Esports Headed?
With Stage 2 wrapped up across all four regions, VALORANT enthusiasts are now focused on the approaching start of the season-culminating VALORANT Champions 2025 showdown.
Set to launch on September 12th and conclude on October 5th, the competition will pit 16 squads from the four corners of the competitive scene against each other for shares of a $2.25m (~£1.67m) prize fund. The tournament will also award one team the coveted title of champion within the VALORANT esports ecosystem.
Leading up to the championship, Riot Games has publicly announced the return of Pick ‘Ems. This feature allows players to unlock exclusive awards by accurately predicting the outcomes of the Group Stage rounds and Playoff brackets set to unfold in Paris, France.
