North American esports team Wildcard completely revamped its Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) lineup ahead of the 2026 competitive year.
This freshly assembled squad marks the newest phase in the organization’s involvement with CS2, succeeding numerous personnel adjustments made over the course of 2025.
Jaxon ‘Peeping‘ Cornwell is the sole holdover from Wildcard’s last competitive appearance in 2025. Miłosz ‘mhL‘ Knasiak and Simon ‘sSen‘ Solnæs Iversen have been promoted to the primary team from Wildcard Academy, with Anthony ‘CLASIA‘ Kearney and Ethan ‘reck’ Serrano, previously of M80, filling the remaining spots on the squad.
This roster construction comes after Wildcard’s decision in November 2025 to sideline Peter ‘stanislaw‘ Jarguz, Joshua ‘JBa‘ Barutt, and Love ‘phzy‘ Smidebrant, subsequent to their failure to qualify for the StarLadder Budapest Major.
The addition of Reck to Wildcard concludes his four-month period as a substitute for M80, an organization he represented at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, where their team finished among the top 22 but did not progress beyond Stage 2.
CLASIA is a seasoned participant in North American Counter-Strike esports, having competed for teams such as Gaimin Gladiators, SkinRave, and BLUEJAYS during his seven years in the scene.
Wildcard’s Future Outlook
Given that Peeping is the only individual remaining from Wildcard’s prior lineup, which held the 83rd position in the December 2025 Valve Regional Standings (VRS), the organization is effectively rebuilding, with three of the five initial players no longer part of the primary squad.
Since Wildcard is currently without a ranking, the freshly formed roster needs to participate in multiple Ranked competitions to accrue VRS points. These points will be crucial for securing invitations to prestigious tournaments and for claiming one of the 32 coveted spots at Counter-Strike’s Majors.
Wildcard is scheduled to make its inaugural tournament appearance at Miami Frag2, an event organized by Fragadelphia, taking place from January 2nd to 4th. Competitors from both Europe and North America will vie for VRS points and a portion of the $8,000 (~£5,953) prize fund.
