Wimbledon: Record Digital Audience of 69.3 Million on BBC

The Wimbledon Championships garnered an unprecedented 69.3 million digital video views for BBC Sport throughout the fortnight-long tournament.

Viewers accessed the matches via BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport online portal, and the BBC Sport mobile application.

This signifies a substantial surge from the 50.1 million online views recorded in 2024, which itself had decreased from 54.3 million in 2023.

The men’s singles title match, featuring Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, attracted a peak television and online viewership of 8.8 million, with the vast majority – 8.3 million – watching on BBC One.

During the women’s final, 4.1 million viewers watched on BBC One as Iga Swiatek secured her inaugural Wimbledon title with a dominant performance against Amanda Anisimova.

Alex Kay-Jelski, director at BBC Sport, commented: “The record-breaking digital numbers for Wimbledon this year demonstrate the widespread attraction of the sport for audiences and the capacity of digital advancements to connect both new and loyal fans more intimately with the event.”

“The methods by which people consume Wimbledon are evolving, and we see this as a chance to present compelling narratives through diverse channels.”
