Group phase

The group phase involves 21 squads, allocated geographically into five divisions – four divisions of four, and a division of five.

Each squad engages with every other squad in their division once, except for the division of five, where they engage with three of the other squads once.

Scoring structure

  • Victory = 3 points
  • Tie = 1 point each + penalty competition for an additional bonus point granted to the penalty competition victor
  • Defeat = 0 points

Advancement

The leading squad from each of the five divisions advances to the quarter-finals, accompanying the three UWCL squads in the final eight.
