Women’s World Cup 2025 Semi-Finals: ICC Announces Match Officials

The Global Cricket Organization (GCO) has announced the lineup of game authorities for the two highly awaited elimination rounds of the Women’s Cricket Global Tournament 2025. With the initial stage now complete, the competition proceeds to Guwahati and Navi Mumbai, where four of the globe’s dominant teams — England, South Africa, India, and Australia — will compete for a spot in the concluding match.

England vs South Africa: Sheridan and Williams to take charge in Guwahati

The initial elimination round will present England competing against South Africa at the Barsapara Venue in Guwahati on October 29. The GCO has selected Eloise Sheridan and Jacquline Williams, both from the Emirates GCO International Panel of Authorities, as the on-field umpires for this encounter.

Sheridan contributes significant background to the match, having officiated in numerous significant games during the initial stage, including the prior meeting between England and South Africa — a game the English side decisively won by 10 wickets. She also participated in South Africa’s victory over Pakistan, demonstrating her understanding of both teams’ styles of play.

Williams, in the meantime, oversaw four initial stage matches involving the two sides. She officiated South Africa’s wins against India and Bangladesh, along with England’s group matches — a triumph over India and a defeat against Australia. Her understanding of these teams’ dynamics adds depth to the officiating roster for this critical knockout fixture.

Finishing the officiating roster for the initial elimination round, Vrinda Rathi will function as the third umpire, Claire Polosak as the fourth umpire, and GS Lakshmi — from the Emirates GCO International Panel of Game Referees — will serve as the game referee.

India vs Australia: Agenbag and Redfern to oversee Navi Mumbai blockbuster

The second elimination round, planned for October 30 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, promises to be a thrilling contest between hosts India and reigning champions Australia.

South African umpire Lauren Agenbag and England’s Sue Redfern have been chosen as the on-field umpires for this marquee matchup. Agenbag is well-acquainted with the Indian team, having participated in their group matches against Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. Her understanding with India’s playing conditions and players will be an asset in ensuring a smooth contest.

Redfern, conversely, brings experience and composure to the field. She officiated the initial stage encounter between India and Australia, a game remembered for Alyssa Healy’s impressive century that led the Aussies to a record-breaking run chase in women’s ODIs.

Supporting them will be Kim Cotton as the third umpire, Nimali Perera as the fourth umpire, and Michell Pereira as the game referee for the high-stakes clash.
