Xu of Wrexham Aims for World Number One

The two victories in Wrexham signified a “complete, satisfying return” for Xu in her developing journey.

“I recall securing my initial victory in a Wrexham tournament during my under-eight participation in the Welsh Championships; achieving my most significant title yesterday carries immense significance for me,” she stated.

Xu began the previous week with a WTA singles ranking of 309, which has since escalated to a personal best of 269.

“I haven’t paid close attention to the rankings, to be frank, but I believe I performed exceptionally well last week, approaching each match with focus. I am incredibly pleased with the outcome.”

Xu will continue without pause as she prepares to participate in the W75 Glasgow event this week.

Now that she has reached the age of 18, there are no limitations on the quantity of tournaments in which she can compete.

“I derive great pleasure from participating in this sport, and I am truly fortunate that it now constitutes my profession, which is a wonderful opportunity,” Xu added.
