Xu Wins Wrexham Open Singles and Doubles

Mimi Xu, a young tennis player from Wales, achieved a significant milestone by triumphing over Mika Stojsavljevic in the Lexus Wrexham Open final.

Xu overcame her British counterpart, who was also a former teammate in the Junior Billie Jean King Cup, with a score of 6-3, 7-5.

Adding to her success, Xu partnered with Ella McDonald later that same day to claim the doubles title.

During the singles final, the Swansea-born 18-year-old established an early advantage, securing five consecutive games and breaking serve three times to surge ahead with a 5-1 lead.

Stojsavljevic demonstrated improved serving accuracy in the subsequent set, successfully defending against seven break points to remain competitive.

Nevertheless, with the score tied at 5-5, Xu managed to secure the decisive break before successfully serving to clinch a noteworthy victory on her third attempt.
