Activision, the organisation behind the Call of Duty series, has made public the financial incentives for its World Series of Warzone 2025 competition.
In anticipation of the culminating event for the battle royale game, the organisation has detailed the distribution of the total winnings.
The World Series of Warzone stands as Activision’s premier battle royale event. Fifty teams representing various regions will vie for a cut of the $1m (~£742,972) prize money, aiming to be recognized as the top Call of Duty: Warzone squad globally.
Though the complete prize allocation is now known, the specific location remains undisclosed. The 2024 edition took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, while the 2023 tournament occurred at London’s Copper Box Arena.
Team Falcons emerged victorious in the previous year, subsequently winning the inaugural Warzone competition at the Esports World Cup held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The game will be present at the multi-game event once again, with its tournament scheduled from August 6th to 9th.
The competitive Warzone scene has experienced consistent growth recently, prompting several organisations to invest in the battle royale game. In May, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) formed a team to participate in the competition. However, preceding the regional finals, the team was disqualified due to a contentious ban imposed on one of its members.
