The Los Angeles Lakers’ prominent player, Luka Dončić, is deemed fit to play again following concerns about a possible injury over the weekend.

After exiting the court due to a limp while representing Slovenia in a EuroBasket warm-up match on Saturday, Dončić is set to participate in his national team’s game against Great Britain on Tuesday. The Slovenian Basketball Federation verified Dončić’s condition on Monday afternoon.

Throughout his career, Dončić has faced some injury challenges, and his physical condition was a key consideration when the Dallas Mavericks made the surprising decision to trade him to the Lakers this past February. Dončić has worked diligently during the offseason to enhance his physical fitness, which includes playing for Slovenia this summer in EuroBasket, the European Basketball Championship.

During Saturday’s game against Latvia, Dončić was hurt when a fellow player stumbled into his legs. Dončić requested to be taken out of the game and went to the locker room with a limp. Following the game, it was reported that the injury was not serious, diagnosed as a knee bruise.

The leaner version of Dončić has performed admirably in the EuroBasket preparation games, posting 19 points against Germany and 26 points in the first half against Latvia before the injury occurred.

The possibility of Dončić returning to play on Tuesday should put the minds of Lakers supporters at ease, as they certainly did not want the main figure of the franchise’s future to sustain a significant injury during a practice game.

The EuroBasket tournament, which spans five weeks, is officially set to commence on August 27, with Slovenia’s initial match taking place the following day against Poland.

Slovenia finds itself in Group C together with Iceland, France, Poland, Belgium, and Israel.
