A lower leg ailment has prevented the quarterback from participating in practice throughout the week, and he was absent as the team continued its preparations for Week 5 on Friday.

Jackson sustained the lower leg injury during Sunday’s defeat to the Chiefs, raising concerns that the two-time NFL MVP might be sidelined for several weeks. With Jackson unavailable, Cooper Rush will step in as the starting quarterback for the Ravens.

A substantial number of players were unable to practice on Friday for the Ravens. Joining Jackson on this list are safety Kyle Hamilton (groin), linebacker Roquan Smith (leg), cornerback Marlon Humphrey (lower leg), and fullback Patrick Ricard (lower leg).

The Ravens are striving to avoid a 1-4 start, a scenario they haven’t faced since 2015, a season that concluded with a 5-11 record and no playoff appearance. Following the Texans game, they will host the Los Angeles Rams before entering their bye week.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been given the green light to play this week, having recovered from a sprained left knee that kept him out of the previous two games. During Daniels’ absence, the Commanders achieved a 1-1 record with Marcus Mariota filling in at quarterback. Daniels will be without two of his receiving targets for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, as Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown have been ruled out.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Bucky Irving of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be out for more than just this week due to a foot sprain. Irving has been ruled out after spending the entire week in a protective boot and relying on crutches around the team’s training facility. Head coach Todd Bowles stated that he wanted to see Irving without the boot by Friday to consider him for the game against the Seattle Seahawks. There are reports suggesting that Irving might also miss next week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers has experienced a decline in his condition this week. After being listed as limited in Wednesday’s practice, he was downgraded to a non-participant on Thursday and remained sidelined on Friday due to a knee injury that has been bothering him since Week 1. While the knee issue hasn’t kept him out of a game this season, it is now a concern given his inability to participate in practice. Pete Carroll informed reporters on Friday that they anticipate Bowers playing this weekend, but he is currently listed as questionable.
Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard will be absent from their game against the Miami Dolphins due to a calf injury. Hubbard has not participated in practice this week, and Rico Dowdle is expected to have a more significant role.
