The competitive Vancouver Surge team in the Call of Duty scene has now presented their full team for the next installment of the game, specifically for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 tournament year.
An interesting addition to the group is Kaci ‘Lqgend‘ Sabri, a renowned player who previously won the Halo world championship in 2024. He is making a shift to the Call of Duty esports circuit subsequent to the wrap-up of the 2025 Halo Championship Series (HCS).
The official statement was released on November 18th, 2025, positioning Vancouver Surge as one of the last CDL squads to publicize its participants for the Black Ops 7 season, which is planned to kick off in December. Aside from Lqgend, the collective is finalized by Ronald ‘Abe‘ Abraham, Isiah ‘Gwinn‘ Gwinn, and Noah ‘Lunarz‘ Whillock.
Vancouver Surge has chosen to invest in a relatively inexperienced set of competitors, aiming to surpass its performance in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 season. Previously, the group accomplished three runner-up positions across the four significant competitions and the culminating CDL Championship.
In spite of their relative lack of experience, the revamped Vancouver Surge team has ample engagement within the CDL competitive environment. Gwinn initially appeared in 2023 with the Carolina Royal Ravens, while Abe and Lunarz were affiliated with the Toronto Ultra (Toronto KOI) and Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 under the Black Ops 6 season.
Lqgend is now the most recent Halo participant to transition into the Call of Duty professional scene. He emulates figures like Matt ‘FormaL‘ Piper and Anthony ‘Shotzzy‘ Cuevas-Castro, both of whom have enjoyed positive results in both game titles in recent years.
Vancouver Surge During 2025
The introduction of a new lineup for the Black Ops 7 season is not the only alteration for Vancouver Surge as they prepare for the new tournament year.
In the month of November, esports organization XDOTG obtained the operational control of the franchise thanks to an agreement with Canucks Sports and Entertainment. As part of this agreement, Ricky ‘Atura‘ Lugo was designated as the Head Coach for Vancouver Surge in anticipation of the approaching season.
With the primary focus on Lqgend’s change to a new competition category, it will be compelling to observe whether Vancouver Surge is capable of securing its initial competition victory.
