Lamar Jackson DNP with Toe Injury; Ravens Face Bengals on Short Week

Reports indicate that Lamar Jackson did not participate in Monday’s estimated practice for the Baltimore Ravens for the third consecutive week, this time due to a new toe injury.

This ailment for Jackson, whose 2025 season has been impacted by various injuries, was not previously reported. He was absent from a practice the prior week due to an ankle issue. Before that, he was sidelined with knee discomfort. Earlier in the season, Jackson missed three contests with a hamstring problem.

Monday’s injury came to light during a shortened week for the Ravens as they get ready for a Thanksgiving game against the Cincinnati Bengals, who anticipate the return of quarterback Joe Burrow from his own toe injury.

Instead of holding a full practice, the Ravens conducted a walkthrough session on Monday. Jackson’s situation suggests that he would not have been able to participate had the Ravens held a complete practice. The specific nature of the injury is currently not known.

When questioned about Jackson’s condition, head coach John Harbaugh informed reporters on Monday that “he’s good,” implying that he anticipates Jackson will play on Thursday.

Harbaugh has previously predicted Jackson’s return from injury this season, only for Jackson to subsequently miss another game. Given Baltimore’s shortened week, Jackson’s status is definitely something to keep an eye on before Thursday’s game.

Following a 1-5 start, the Ravens have secured five consecutive victories, bringing them into a tie for the top spot in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers at 6-5. However, neither the Ravens nor Jackson have inspired a great deal of confidence during this winning streak, as Baltimore’s offense has often struggled in four wins against Dolphins, Vikings, Browns and Jets teams that are far from being playoff contenders.

The injuries have significantly hampered Jackson, who has displayed little resembling his two-time MVP performance on the field since recovering from his hamstring injury. Over his last two games, Jackson has completed 56.3% of his passes for 173 yards per game, with 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He accumulated a total of 21 rushing yards in those two games on 11 carries (1.9 yards per carry).

Now, he’s also dealing with a toe injury in addition to his other health issues. Should he be able to play against the Bengals, the new injury presents one more concern for Jackson and the Ravens.
