Competitors in Fortnite can swiftly engage in esports activities, with Epic Games having already unveiled a series of tournaments slated for January 2026.

The principal event for the current month is the Reload Elite Series, designed to advance the highest-achieving squads to the 2026 Esports World Cup. Furthermore, the FNCS Trial is scheduled for January 31st, available in every geographical area.

Below, Esports Insider presents a comprehensive overview of all Fortnite competitive engagements planned for January 2026.

Reload Elite Series

Participants must achieve an Elite rank or superior across four online qualification stages within the Fortnite’s Reload Elite Series, commencing with the initial stage on January 8th. Subsequently, the leading 2,000 duos from the EU, 1,000 from NAC, and 500 from NAW, OCE, ASIA, ME, and BR territories will progress to the Play-In phase.

The premier 80 teams, determined by an aggregate ranking system, will then be segmented into four Heats, wherein duos securing a top-five position in each Heat will earn a place in the Finals. 

The online qualification rounds alone boast a substantial prize fund of $1.5 million (approximately £1,111,170), which will be shared amongst the top-ranked duos in the Heats, as well as every duo participating in the Finals.

Subsequent to the Qualifier Finals, three teams from the EU, two from NAC, and one team each from ASIA, ME, BR, OCE, and NAW will advance to the Reload Elite Series Championship at the Esports World Cup to challenge established partner teams.

Altogether, the Championship will involve 12 European Union teams, eight from NAC, and a collective four teams from ASIA, ME, BR, OCE, and NAW, all vying for a prize fund of $1 million (approximately £740,780).

Compete in FNCS Trial to Reach Division 1

Gamers who hold a rank of Gold or superior, and possess an Account Level of 350 or more, are eligible to join the FNCS Trial on January 31st to secure a placement in the initial Division.

Subsequently, these duos are able to contend in Divisional Cups within their designated regions to ascend the ranks and ultimately attain Division 1, thereby qualifying to compete in the FNCS Major Play-In Stage and claim rewards.
